This is an original ceiling pendant light made in the 1970’s. There is no producer label on the piece but the design and some details are very similar to work of Guzzini Lighting Company in Italy.

Guzzini company was originally founded in 1959 by Raimondo Guzzini and at that time it focused purely on producing decorative objects made of copper. In 1963, Raimondo’s other five brothers joined the business to establish the Guzzini Lighting Company, focusing on designing pendant lights, sconces and also floor lamps.

Later the company hired architect Luigi Massoni as their head designer. This move proved to be a great success as Massoni designed some renown iconic design pieces for them during that period. The Guzzini brothers rebranded the company various times over the years. They changed the name to IGuzzini in 1974.

This pendant has a smooth, organic curve in the style of the Space and the Mid Century design. The white plastic lampshade is fixed into a stainless steel cap. It is all supported by a cream coloured wire.

This piece is in great original vintage condition without any cracks or other visible damage, showing only absolute minimal wear on the surfaces. All the parts are original including the bulb fitting and the cord and are fully functional.
